Summer, Icecream trucks, snow and Father's Day

Happy Father's Day, JB!

We had a great day celebrating "Daddy" today. We woke up to find Gavin playing with his "ice cream truck" in the "snow"... he found a tube of Desitin and filled the bed of one of his small dump trucks (hence the "ice cream truck") and then spread Desitin all over the table so his truck could drive through the "snow"! At least the boys slept in a bit longer than usual!

After cleaning up the mess we packed up the boys and headed to the zoo! The weather was beautiful, today! Everyone was in shorts or at least w/o coats! Gavin rode a few rides and we visited all the animals before we left to hit our local "summer cafe" on our corner (it's only set up from May-September) for some yummy shashlik.

Dinner tonight I made some super tasty fettuccine. The 'sauce' was chopped fresh tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and fresh basil with a little olive oil, salt and pepper- wow! It was the perfect way to finish our first 'summer' day!

One of these evenings I have to take a pic out our window at 10pm- it's still as light out as it is at 3 or 5pm! The sun finally sets these days around 11 and is waking us all up around 4:30-5am! But, we better enjoy all the sunlight and long days while we have them! Too bad it makes it so challenging for the boys to fall asleep at night!

Tomorrow we say goodbye to Jason, Carolina and Cami for a year. Tomorrow they leave here to start their trip back to the states for home assignment. Can't believe they are leaving already. This past year has flown by faster than I ever imagined. Less than a year from now JB and I will be on our way back to the states ourselves! Wow. We will miss the Kochsieks so much. They've not only been our teammates and helpers, but our closest friends as well. We love you guys and hate to see you go...but since you'll be in America, could you send us some Oreo cookies and some of that Garden dip you always make? Hehe!
