LOST.

I wish I was posting about LOST- as in the tv show...but unfortuantely it's JB's wedding bands that are lost. He lost our wedding band 3 weeks ago when he was outside working on the car- he wiped the oil off his hands and realized his wedding band was gone. He searched and searched and searched- but with all the snow it was nowhere to be found. Fortunately (?) this isn't his original band...that one was lost in a river in OH 6 months after we were married... But we replaced it (in a slightly smaller size) and even had it engraved just like the first one... . Then, just tonight after pushing 2 cars out of the snow he looked down and realized his other wedding band (we each wear 2- b/c russians wear them on the right hand- and we wear our 'american' ones on the left) was gone! We bought this one on St Pete and he really loved it... bummer. So, I'm sure we can find another one for his left hand- but as it turns out the jewelery store that we purchased his other wedding band at is gone. It went out of business. I can't say how bummed we are... mostly b/c he wears white gold and it's not easy to come by here- especially in a size 13+ (he wore a 13 3/4 when we were married...but he's lost weight and just in the last several months he's lost more :) so I'm guessing he's in a 13 now?)... and we won't even mention the cost. It seems to me that almost everything costs more here. So... as excited as we were to wake up to 8 or so more inches of snow on the ground- what a bummer to lose his ring as a result of all the snow and helping people get unstuck. Either way- we are so fortunate to have 4-wheel drive! Not sure what we would have done today w/o it! We just got home and the roads are still a mess- haven't seen a single plow all day! Though, we'll wake up tomorrow morning and notice that they've been working all night- so the roads should look a bit better tomorrow! Now...if only we could find JB's rings. Oh...one more thing that has fallen victim to the snow- our car key! Over a month ago JB was walking from the car to a cafe and our car key fell off the key ring and we never found it after all the searching! Fortunately we purchased a second key after we bought the car! But it was super expensive (over 200$!) and we had to get it shipped from the states. Why? B/c it has a chip inside and if you start the car w/ any other key it will start- but after a few minutes it will shut down and you can't turn it back on. Nice idea...but a pain for us! b/c we can't just go have a copy made... so- when you're out enjoying all the snow that has fallen- think of us and be sure to leave your wedding rings and keys safely INSIDE! :)
