When you come to Russia to visit us:
1. Don't whistle in enclosed places (ex: the trolleybus- please see first blog entry). If you do, you might just "whistle all your money away"!
2. Don't buy or give an even number of flowers- these are only for funerals...So, instead of a dozen- go for 13!
3. Only cradle your newborn- holding them upright will injure their backs.
4. Keep your child covered, no matter what the weather; warm or cold- a draft will make him sick!
5. Don't put ice in your drink- the cold will make you sick (but it's okay to eat icecream in February- figure that one out!)
6. Don't shake hands over the threshold of a door b/c your relationship will go bad.
7. Ladies- never sit on cold concrete- you'll freeze your eggs!
8. Don't hand your money to the cashier- set it in the dish on the counter, the same place she'll set your change.
9. If your going shopping for food- bring your own plastic bags, because they'll probably charge you for every bag you need.
10. It's totally in style here to wear capris with knee- high, heeled boots all winter! Don't forget yours at home!
